Elizabeth Rose
Elizabeth Frances Rose is co-founder and CEO of Sondor Asian Art. She is a PhD candidate at the Centre for Medieval Studies at the University of Toronto. A former Chancellor’s Scholar at Queen’s University, she holds master’s degrees in art history and medieval studies from the University of Toronto.
Elizabeth's research encompasses the artistic cultures of Inner and East Asia, medieval Europe, and the Islamic world, and their historical interactions, with a focus on the art of the Mongol Empire and its successor states.
Elizabeth is currently working on a dissertation tentatively entitled “Mobile Arts of the Mongol Empires,” which examines Mongol art objects, such as tents, belts, and saddles, from the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries.
In the pursuit of her research into premodern Eurasian art history, Elizabeth has spent extensive time conducting fieldwork in Mongolia and China. She is fluent in Modern Standard Chinese and Mongolian, among other languages.

Carter Smith is co-founder and COO of Sondor Asian Art. With an MFin from Queen's University and ten years of experience in capital markets, Carter brings experience in strategic business development, financial discipline, and operational excellence to the company.
Throughout his career, Carter has built extensive professional networks across multiple sectors. His experience navigating high-value negotiations and managing multi-stakeholder processes translates directly to Sondor's concierge model.
